Antawan Byrd
Antawan Byrd specializes in modern and contemporary art of Africa and the African diaspora. As an associate curator of photography and media at the Art Institute of Chicago, he curated Mimi Cherono Ng’ok: Closer to the Earth, Closer to My Own Body (2021), and co-curated The People Shall Govern! Medu Art Ensemble and the Anti-Apartheid Poster (2019). In 2017, he received the Award for Curatorial Excellence from the Arts Council of the African Studies Association, and his research has been supported by an Andrew Mellon-CLIR fellowship, a Mellon-COSI fellowship, and a Fulbright fellowship at the Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos.
Lawrence Van Hagen
Lawrence Van Hagen is the founder of LVH Art, as well as the curator of the renowned ‘What’s Up’ exhibitions. He is also an advisor of the International Board at Palais de Tokyo, one of the most important and avant-garde art centres in Europe. Over time, Lawrence has put together an extensive art collection of some of the most coveted emerging artists of today, and his main focus is to promote them in his curatorial endeavours. Hence, the What’s Up exhibitions present dynamic fine art surveys in London, Hong Kong, New York and Seoul, bringing together a spectacular array of both emerging and more established artists and creating an engaging dialogue between the two. The first What’s Up exhibition took place in London in 2016, the concept was based on the question of what’s up on walls today, who are the artists to look out for right now? This idea holds true today, with 10 exhibitions in 5 different countries, What’s Up continues to grow.
Jean de Loisy
Jean de Loisy is an independent international curator. Formerly, de Liosy was the director of the Ecole nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He was the President of the Palais de Tokyo from 2011 to 2018, and has occupied different functions in various cultural institutions such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris or the Cartier Foundation, amongst others. In the frame of his curatorial activities, Jean de Loisy has participated in number of international events like the Venice Biennial in 1993 and 2011 as well as organizing the Gwangju Biennial in 1995 or historical exhibitions of which ‘Hors Limites – l’art et la vie’ (1995) and ‘Traces du sacré’ at the Centre Pompidou (2008) or ‘La Beauté’ in Avignon (2000), ‘Monumenta/Anish Kapoor’ at the Grand Palais (2011), ’Les Maîtres du Désordre’ (2012) at the Musée du Quai Branly, ‘Formes simples’ at the Centre Pompidou-Metz (2014), ‘A Brief History of the Future’ at Musée du Louvre (2015) and ‘Monumenta/Huang Yong Ping’ at the Grand Palais (2016).
Sohrab Mohebbi
Sohrab Mohebbi is the curator-at-large for Sculpture Centre. Mohebbi was the associate curator at REDCAT where he organized solo exhibitions with Dave Hullfish Bailey, Tamara Henderson, John Knight, and Falke Pisano among others. His group exhibitions include: It is obvious from the map (co-curated with Thomas Keenan) and Hotel Theory (curated in collaboration with Ruth Estevez). Hotel Theory received The Emily Hall Tremaine Exhibition Award in 2013. Mohebbi was a Curatorial Fellow at Queens Museum where he organized Hassan Khans Hidden Location. He is the recipient of 2012 Creative Capital | Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Program. His writings have been published in Bidoun magazine, where he is a contributing editor. He is an advisor at the Rijksakademie, Amsterdam and has organized exhibitions and programs for organizations including the Walker Art Center, High Desert Test Sites, SALT Istanbul and Center for Historical Reenactments.
Floriane de Saint Pierre
Floriane de Saint Pierre is the founder of an eponymous consulting firm based in Paris, Milan and New York. She is the founder of FLORIANE DE SAINT PIERRE & ASSOCIÉS and EYES on TALENTS. Passionate for contemporary visual arts, she is a Founding Member of the Palais de Tokyo Art Club Entreprises, a Member of the Groupe d’Acquisition de la Photographie of the Centre Pompidou and leads the Benefactor Committee of Aware, Archives of Women Artists Research and Exhibitions. Her collections of contemporary art and photography focus on women artists.
Catherine Sarr
Catherine Sarr is the founder and CEO of Almasika Fine Jewellery, a fusion of design and culture creating jewellery rooted in symbols, shape and stories transcending societal boundaries. She is a member of the Women's board and Advisory Committee of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is also a member of the programs committee of The Arts Club of Chicago.
Mamadou-Abou Sarr
Mamadou-Abou Sarr is the founder and President of V-Square Quantitative Management, a global asset management firm headquartered in Chicago. Mamadou is actively involved in philanthropic and civic activities around the world. He is a member of the committee on Photography at the Art Institute of Chicago and a member of the museum council at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago. Mamadou is a French Foreign Trade Advisor, appointed by decree of the Prime Minister of France.
